A mother and daughter small business
In 2010 Aura cleaned offices and homes as an independent contractor while Marilin helped her mother communicate with clients, prepare contracts, and do billing. Business started growing and they decided to incorporate in 2013. Sierra Cleaning Services was born but it was merely a second job for both Aura & Marilin. In 2015, Marilin graduated from City College of New York with a Bachelor in Business Administration. The COVID-19 pandemic forced Marilin to be more hands-on in the business and she discovered that her niche was detailed deep cleaning. Aura taught her well as a child to move all furniture in the home and scrub each and every crevice. Marilin never thought the way her mother taught her to clean and her attention to detail would later become a skill she could apply to their own business.
